You can view the official PHS handbook here.
School attendance and grades will be at the top of the priority list. I highly recommend reading through the school policy on unexcused absences and tardies, but we’ll be going a step above and making sure our policies as a program are very clear from day one.
If you’re late to practice or have to leave early you will sit the first set of the following game. If you’re absent from practice, you won’t play in the following game.
Exceptions to this are being sick (please don’t spread your germs to teammates or coaches!) or emergency appointments or with a specialist in cases where you’ve been waiting a long time to get seen. Non emergent appts. need to be made outside of practice time.
-
We’re here to create an environment where you celebrate each others wins, because ultimately those become your wins too. This season we will have a zero tolerance policy for poor sportsmanship + bullying within the team. Your only competition is with the player you were yesterday.
Every time you put on a jersey you represent your school, your families, and your coaches. It’s an honor to step on the court every night.
We will strive to be inclusive. We will work hard to make our gym a place where everyone feels welcome no matter their skill level.
-
Off season training isn’t a requirement. It will only improve your chances of making the varsity team when you put in work to get stronger in your off time.
We expect that on the days that we open the gym or weight room that you give 100% every time you’re there.

As a single mom of 4 for years, I can assure you that I know the struggle of getting kids to and from school and sports and games. Please know that we will make every available effort to help and make your lives easier that we can.
We can’t run a successful program without your help though.
We expect your girls to show up on time and be picked up on time. We will make sure to have schedules posted early this year with clear practice times.
Please notify your childs coach as early as possible if they will be late or missing practice so we can make our practice plans accordingly.
We will be doing closed practices during the regular season, but you’re welcome to attend and watch open gyms. We just ask that if you bring siblings or other children that they aren’t left unattended and don’t interrupt practice time. We also ask that if you do attend open gyms that you not critique or coach your child or their teammates.
