2025 Fitness Testing
One of our main goals in this program is not just to improve verticals and strength, but more importantly to get young women comfortable in a weight room setting. Weight rooms can be intimidating as an adult, let alone for young women, especially when it’s frequently dominated by male athletes. We want to give them the confidence and ability to walk into any gym and know how to use the equipment, know what proper form looks like to reduce the risk of injury, and to program their workouts for individual needs.
We as coaches will be there to lift and challenge ourselves along side them, never asking them to do things we aren’t willing to do ourselves. We are lucky to have a certified personal trainer named Caleb Rayburn, who will be returning this year to coach the girls in the weight room. Caleb trains at our local SnapFitness in Talent and has been a huge resource for programming workouts and even educating the girls on nutrition for athletes.
This season we’ll be giving everyone the opportunity to see tangible results from the strength and conditioning we do throughout the summer. To help measure progress we’ll be doing fitness testing 3x during the summer. The beginning of June. The beginning of July. And then again during conditioning camp.
The goal of this is to get a baseline for our athletes and then use the progress as fuel to stay consistent throughout the summer. It’s imperative that we fuel our bodies, work on our strength and agility, and practice regularly to see improvement and to compete at a high level of play.
